Recommended vehicle types by passenger count (reference)
The following is reference information to help consider vehicle classes when using a rental car. Confirm actual vehicle models, seating capacity, luggage space, rates, availability, and insurance/coverage with the contracted rental company or service provider.
Choose a vehicle class after checking not only passenger numbers but also luggage (suitcases, strollers, wheelchairs), child seats, and seating capacity including the driver. If unsure, please consult us in advance.
3-seater Corolla class
Capacity: Up to 3 to 4 people
This is a sedan car that is easy to use. It is useful in both private and business settings. We recommend accommodating up to 3 people.
3-seater sedan Teana class
Capacity: Up to 3 to 4 people
This sedan is ideal for those seeking premium space. Unlike the lower classes, cars with simple colors are available.
6-seater/step wagon class
Capacity: up to 6-7 people
It's a reasonable and just the right size minivan. It's surprisingly spacious and runs briskly. We recommend that up to 5 people ride.
6-seater Alphard class
Capacity: up to 6-7 people
With its luxurious interior and exterior, it is ideal for private outings and business negotiations with important customers. The interior of the car is more spacious than the lower classes.
9-seater wagon/Hiace wagon
Capacity: up to 9 people
It can accommodate up to 9 people. This is a reliable vehicle for business trips and when you have a lot of luggage (recommended for 9 people or 5 people + each suitcase).
